Victoria, BC, Canada

Victoria truly is a unique blend of urban charm and natural beauty. Its British heritage is evident in the architecture, gardens, and tea culture, while the vibrant arts scene and eclectic eateries give it a character reminiscent of Portland, Oregon.

For a short visit, you can explore the historic Inner Harbor, where landmarks like the Fairmont Empress Hotel and the British Columbia Parliament Buildings stand out. Don’t miss the Royal BC Museum for a deep dive into the region’s natural and cultural history. No matter your age, the museum has something for everyone and has always been one of my favorite places to visit in Victoria! If you’re looking for outdoor adventures, the nearby Galloping Goose Regional Trail offers scenic views for biking or walking, while the Sooke Hills provide more challenging hikes.

The city is also home to a lively food scene, with farm-to-table establishments and local breweries that reflect the region’s commitment to sustainability and eating island-grown foods. Try fresh seafood, clam chowder, and some locally brewed craft beer at Spinnakers, my favorite restaurant and brewery in town!  Whether you’re wandering through the Butchart Gardens, enjoying high tea at the Empress, or discovering local artisan shops, there truly is something for everyone in Victoria.
