If you’re looking for a domestic train experience through some of the most beautiful country you’ll ever see, the Rockies to Red Rocks itinerary is for you!
I went on this five-day journey with my sister, which was perfect. We spent a night in Salt Lake City before being motorcoached down to Moab, where we spent a couple of days before embarking on the train journey. We did an afternoon guided walk in Arches National Park and got to watch the sunset at North Window. It was one of the most spectacular sites I’ve ever witnessed.
The train experience was exceptional and the staff were attentive, educational, and hilarious. We booked the Silver Leaf Plus level, so we had access to a complimentary bar car that had comfortable seating and top shelf spirits and wine. Our meals were served at our seats, and the head chef consulted with me directly regarding my dietary restrictions and allergies.
The itinerary included overnights in Salt Lake, Moab, Glenwood Springs, and Denver. I booked our hotels through Rocky Mountaineer, which created a seamless experience. We got to visit Doc Holliday’s tavern in Glenwood Springs, though we wished we had time to visit the springs there.
It was an unforgettable experience!
